Frequently asked Questions on Wholesale Knowledge, Medical Division
- What is Wholesale Knowledge Medical Division?
Our Medical Division is a highly specialized unit of a broad-based parent company which studies and reports on the healthcare industry. We believe - and the demand of our customers has proved - that information on the trends, patterns, developments and direction of the healthcare sector is not adequately analyzed or distributed. Our goal is make this information widely available at reasonable prices so our customers can make informed decisions about sales, marketing, research, technology, legislation and education.
- What products do you offer?
Our two main product lines are Reference Guides and Communication Resources and Compliance Fundamentals: The Professional Handbook for Healthcare Administration & Management. The first serve as comprehensive guides to the best of medical specialties on the internet, communication facilitators, and aids for sales, marketing, purchasing and research. The latter is a comprehensive overview of compliance and legislation related to compliance for healthcare providers. Both sets of products take thousands of hours of research and essentially boil it down into user-friendly and useful daily office tools. Secondary products and services include extensive conducting of and analyzing market surveys of the healthcare sector and making them available in a variety of formats.
- What is your typical customer profile?
Roughly 75% of our customers are healthcare "providers" - ie, those that offer one or another form of medical care. These include hospitals, hospices, clinics of all kinds, chronic and acute care facilities, long term care facilities and centers for addiction and other specialized treatment. The remaining 25% is comprised of diverse businesses and organizations that are included under the umbrella of "healthcare". These include federal, state and local healthcare organizations, pharmaceutical companies, laboratories, professional associations, medical schools and healthcare training facilities.
- Why healthcare? Why not automotive? Or Aerospace? Or finance?
Healthcare is the industry of choice not only because, at roughly 17% of the US economy it dwarfs most others, but because there is very little industry information available. That which is available is disparate and little known. We discovered several years back that there is a significant and growing demand for both broad-based and specific information on the healthcare sector. At conferences, trade shows, conventions and meetings we were confronted by hundreds of groups and individuals who expressed interest in our concept and products, spawning our first efforts at an industry-wide perspective. Last, and perhaps most important, we have chosen healthcare because of its centrality in our political, economic and social system. Businesses and organizations, in the opinion of our board, management and employees, require accurate, honest and detailed reporting on a sector in which lives are literally hanging in the balance and in which the political and economic stakes are always high.
